Early Solo Pilots - Restrictions

Solo pilots who do not yet have an SPL, LAPL(S), or Bronze plus Cross Country Endorsement:

Until you meet the above criteria (i.e., have the piece of paper in your hands) you are legally a Student Pilot.

As a Student Pilot you must discuss your intentions with the Duty Instructor and be briefed and authorised before every flight.

Except for emergencies, do not deviate from the brief for the flight. For Student Pilots the Authorising Instructor carries the legal responsibility for the safe conduct of the flight. Please respect this.

Remain within gliding distance of the airfield at all times, allowing for conditions. Stay clear of cloud and controlled airspace. Do not fly above cloud, unless explicitly briefed on the day by the Duty Instructor.
